Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s latest mistake costs them dearly
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s latest move backfires amid reunion hopes with Royal family
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent appearance at Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday party in Beverly Hills has reportedly added tension to their already complicated relationship with the Royal family.
According to royal insiders, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s presence at the event highlighted the growing divide between the Sussexes’ celebrity lifestyle and traditional royal expectations.
A source told OK! Magazine that their appearance at the party, where Oprah Winfrey, Paris Hilton and Snoop Dog were at attendance, may have further reduced Harry and Meghan’s chances of reconciling with the royals.
"By going to such a high-profile Hollywood party, Harry and Meghan are now being perceived as having moved too far away from traditional royal norms,” the insider said.
They added, “Among senior family members, there's worry it clashes with the expectations of duty and discretion for royals."
"It wasn't simply that they went to a party. The size, the opulence, and the publicity of the event have prompted doubts about whether they can fully return to the family's inner circle anytime soon.
“In fact, it may have poisoned that chance for good."
On why King Charles did not invite Harry and Meghan to Royal Christmas bash this year despite having tea with the Duke in September, they said, "Charles wants Christmas to emphasise family and tradition.”
“With his cancer treatment ongoing, this year it's especially about calm and continuity, and showing the British public the royal family is about service and humility – despite their obvious wealth and privilege."
"Harry and Meghan's very public Hollywood involvement doesn't sit comfortably with that form of branding," they added.
